Standard Operating Procedure (SOP): Connecting a Fender Wireless Amplifier to an Electric Guitar

Purpose:

This documentation was created to provide step-by-step instructions to new users on how to connect an electric guitar or bass to the Fender Wireless Amplifier. The goal is to ensure that users can easily connect the wireless amplifier and access the features included in the Fender Guitar App.

Scope:

This is intended to inform new users with little to no experience with Bluetooth-enabled devices and electric or bass guitars.

Prerequisites/Requirements

1. Fender Wireless Amplifier


2. Fender Guitar Mobile Application


3. Electric guitar/bass


4. Wireless input/output jack


5. Stable internet connection

Roles/Responsibilities

• User: Sets up Bluetooth connection in the Fender Guitar Mobile Application


• Fender Wireless Amplifier: Connects the electric or bass guitar and provides wireless use

Step-by-Step Procedure

1. Insert the wireless input/output jack, turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device, and turn on the wireless amplifier.


2. Open the Fender Guitar Application and tap the speaker icon.


3. Tap the “Connect to nearest device” option.


4. Tap on the device that has the same three-digit code found on the back of the wireless amplifier.


5. Create a name for the device to help recognize it for later use.


6. Listen for the three beeps and voice confirmation stating ‘Connected.’ Adjust your amp’s volume in order to hear the connection clearly.

Expected Outcome / Success Criteria

• Device connection confirmation is displayed.


• Sound and voice verification from the wireless amplifier.

Common Errors & Troubleshooting

• Issue: Audio Dropping Out/Device Disconnected
  
  Cause: Far-reaching distance or physical barriers (e.g., walls, different rooms)
  
  Solution: Move closer to the amp.
  
  
• Issue: Audio Producing Static
  
  Cause: Wireless input/output device not inserted properly
  
  Solution: Check that the wireless input/output jack is inserted completely into the electric guitar
  
  
• Issue: Device not available
  
  Cause: Fender Wireless Amplifier not searching for a connection
  
  Solution: Turn the amplifier off, then turn it on again.
